sound@acm.org (sound-request@acm.org) was established for presentation and discussion of research in sound computation. This is an arena for discussing technical issues in sound software and hardware. While ICAD has a strong emphasis on the perception and application issues, "sound" was established to reflect the ACM's emphasis on computer science issues.

auditory@vm1.mcgill.ca (owner-auditory@vm1.mcgill.ca) is peopled by auditory perception researchers, and the issues that arise include the whole spectrum of their research interests, including auditory stream segregation, pitch perception, spatial hearing, and so on.
